Our first event RIZING

RIZING was a celebration of community and culture and brought so many wonderful people together. And together we raised over $7000 for Inuka’s initiatives.

The money raised from this event will be put towards building the first classroom at the vocational centre we are constructing in partnership with CHETI NGO. This is a collaborative project between Inuka and CHETI NGO, which will facilitate teaching and training for those who are unable to access an education in Arusha.

A note on the success of RIZING from Inuka’s Director, Maeve:

“I'm not sure how to put last night into words, but I do know that I am so thankful and grateful to everyone who was involved and to everyone who came along.

Last night, RIZING was an event dedicated to doing good, and I truly believe we did that. It was a celebration of community and culture and brought so many wonderful people together. And together, we raised over $7000 for charity.

Inuka is a small charity that operates in Tanzania with a mission to build stronger community. The projects are focused on education and empowerment and currently support over 1200 students and 30 women.

My life changed when I visited Africa in 2018, and I have since made it my life's purpose to better the lives of those who so profoundly impacted mine. But I could not do that without the support of my family, friends, community and the kindness of others in the world. So I thank you, deeply, from the bottom of my heart.

To Adam, Tiri, Praise, Ini, Rid and Daniel - thank you for helping the vision of this event come to life. To my mum for her unconditional support. To the DJs, drummers and performers, the businesses and artists who generously contributed to making it an amazing experience last night - thank you.

One small act of kindness can change a life, and last night has made it possible to change many lives.

Thank you. Asante sana.” - Maeve, Director of Inuka

RIZING was held in October 2022 and welcomed over 200 guests at the Marlborough Hotel in Newtown, Australia.
